As Thanksgiving has just passed us by this year; I felt the need to post what the day means to me.
Thanksgiving isn't about the food, it's about spending time as a family to remember that you are truly lucky for what you have in your life. Be thankful that you have family. Thankful for the roof over your heads, the comforts that you are afforded here in the USA.
I am so very thankful for the rights and freedoms that our service men and women have given us and continue to give us every day. We have the freedom to sit in our nice comfortable homes and enjoy a thanksgiving meal with our families. That freedom was hard fought for by our military that has given up their own comfort to make sure we can do just that.
This year has been a struggle to remember what I still have to be thankful for. I have lost so many things this year. In that same time I have gained so much as well I am not talking about things that don't mean anything. I am talking about all the things that will stay with me forever. I have gained a family that I never have truly had. I have gained a man that loves me more than I could ever explain.
Our daughters have gained the dad that they have always deserved. Jon has been our rock from day one. He has given us so many things. He has given us hope and love, understanding and compassion. Each day that we are together from afar; he gives us peace and faith. Jon gave me my voice back.
There are so many people that don't really realize what they have and how lucky they are to have those things. I'm so not talking about material things. Those are only possessions. You can't take them with you when you leave this earth. I'm talking about a heart filled with love. If you have love, you have everything in life you could ever need. Love will guide you through the tough times, it will be your shoulder when you need a helping of strength.
Love is there when no one else is. If you are lucky enough to have found your one true forever love; then you have everything there is in life. You are the richest that you can ever be if you have love in your life.
The love of your children, the love of your significant other, your spouse, your parents and friends is all that you will ever need. If you don't have love in your life, ask yourself what you really have. Sometimes it's when you stop looking for love, that it finds you. Never give up on love. It is something to treasure forever. You will be happier and more fulfilled than you have ever felt.
Love lifts all of your troubles and helps find a way to solve all problems. Love takes work, nurture it. Without nurturing love can't grow. Put your heart into helping love grow. Your reward is a love that can never be broken andwill never fail.

Letters To My Love
I am a proud woman, I have the most amazing husband in the world. Every day since we met, my heart knows he is meant to be in my life forever. I am forever grateful that I am lucky enough that he fell in love with me.
This is my husband:
I have written Jon many times since we began our relationship. I wanted a place where I could keep all of those letters all together. What a better place than to keep them all here.
Jon my love,
I am so very proud to call you my husband. Each and every day you show me how lucky I truly am. It is amazing to see the love in your eyes every time that you look at me. I feel your love in my soul.
I love you
